ALK and non-small cell lung carcinoma: ALK gene rearrangement on chromosome 2p23 is a well-known oncogenic driver in non-small cell lung cancer and has also been identified in approximately 50% of IMTs.[3,15] Absent ALK gene rearrangement was associated with a higher overall age, subtle histologic differences, and death from disease or distant metastases, suggesting a favorable prognostic indicator.[1,16,17] In our study, ALK gene rearrangement was detected in 4 cases, negative in 2 cases, and not evaluated in 3 cases.
