In light of the recent studies correlating high Treg infiltration in colon tumors with a poor patient outcome [15, 16], we compared the prognosis for patients with high and low CD39 expression, to investigate if the assumed functional difference between the CD39+ and CD39− intratumoral Treg subsets in colon cancer may affect patient outcome. This evidence concerns the gene ENTPD1 and colonic neoplasm.
