The applicability of ddPCR has been explored in several fields, including haematological malignancies, particularly in Ph− ALL, in multiple myeloma, in mantle cell lymphoma, by monitoring IG/TR gene rearrangement and in follicular lymphoma by monitoring BCL2/IGH rearrangement.23, 24, 25, 26 These studies have shown that ddPCR is a sensitive and reliable MRD monitoring method, at least comparable to RQ‐PCR, regardless of the availability and/or amount of diagnostic material. The gene discussed is BCL2; the disease is plasma cell myeloma.
