Beside above‐mentioned mechanisms for curcumin efficacy in COVID‐19, Airton Castro Rocha et al. (Airton Castro Rocha & Renato de Assis, 2020) and Babaei et al. (Babaei et al., 2020) suggested that based on available data showing that curcumin may either increase or decrease ACE in vivo activity and considering the controversy as to whether drugs acting on the angiotensin converting enzyme (ACE) pathway exacerbate the clinical appearance of patients affected by SARS‐CoV‐2, effect of curcumin on this pathway also could be a probable mechanism for curcumin efficacy in COVID‐19. This evidence concerns the gene ACE and COVID-19.
