In a huge NGS project including more than 10,000 patients with metastatic cancer across 62 principal solid tumor entities, the most commonly mutated genes were, in decreasing order of alteration frequency, TP53, KRAS, TERT, PIK3CA, APC, ARID1A, PTEN, EGFR, KMT2D, and RB1 [29]. The gene discussed is KMT2D; the disease is metastatic malignant neoplasm.
