Although vitamin K antagonists, direct oral anticoagulants, warfarin, heparin, parathyroid hormone and vitamin D compounds are used in chronic kidney disease (CKD) treatment (Harel et al. 2014; Aursulesei and Costache 2019; Palmer et al. 2007; Chen et al. 2018), there are still many challenges remaining for treating vascular calcification (VC) in uremic patients.
