On relative risk estimation, age ≥ 60 years, presence of multiple co-morbidities, increased baseline inflammatory markers (IL-6 and D-dimer), high CT severity index and development of systemic complications like lung fibrosis, arrhythmia, encephalopathy, thrombocytopenia and hypotension were significant risk factors associated with death. This evidence concerns the gene IL6 and cardiac arrhythmia.
