More and more evidences indicated that miR-145 has antiproliferative and pro-apoptotic effects, and may be a miRNA with tumor suppressor effects.[26] It was proved that miR-145 inhibited proliferation, invasion, and tumor growth of ovarian cancer cells and promoted apoptosis by negatively regulating the expression of target genes such as p53, high mobility group protein A2, C-Myc and p70S6K1.[27,28] All of these findings suggested that miRNA-145 can serve as a novel prognostic marker and can be used as a therapeutic target for ovarian cancer.
