Secondary amyloid A (AA) amyloidosis is a rare and fatal complication of rheumatic diseases, including rheumatoid arthritis (RA).[1,2] Serum AA (SAA) protein is an acute-phase reactant synthetized by hepatocytes in the presence of abundant proinflammatory cytokines and activated immune cells. Here, TEAD1 is linked to rheumatoid arthritis.
