Biologic agents, including TNF-α inhibitors, have revolutionized the treatment of spondyloarthropathies as they have been shown to modify the course of the disease and significantly reduce the rate of uveitis recurrences.[4] TNF-α inhibitors consist of four monoclonal antibodies (adalimumab, certolizumab, golimumab, and infliximab) and one TNF-receptor fusion protein (etanercept). The gene discussed is TNF; the disease is spondyloarthropathy.
