Although no studies have reported the role of SMOX in LUAD, it has a significant correlation with chronic inflammation, such as in ulcerative colitis, prostatic intraepithelial neoplasia (PIN), and Helicobacter pylori-associated gastritis (Goodwin et al., 2008; Hong et al., 2010; Chaturvedi et al., 2014). This evidence concerns the gene SMOX and prostate intraepithelial neoplasia.
