With this aim, we studied the effects of LIT01-196 on arterial BP, heart rate (HR), fluid balance and electrolytes, following i.v. and s.c. administrations in conscious normotensive (Sprague-Dawley, SD and Wistar-Kyoto, WKY) and hypertensive DOCA-salt rats, a salt- and volume-dependent model of hypertension, with low plasma renin levels, resistant to treatment with systemic renin-angiotensin system (RAS) blockers and exhibiting low NO-synthase activity (Lee et al., 1999; Basting and Lazartigues, 2017). Here, REN is linked to hypertensive disorder.
