NES and central nervous system cancer: Aguado et al. (2007) reported that JWH133 stimulated glial cell differentiation in a CB2R-related manner, as shown by an increase in S-100β and GFAP and neuronal marker β-tubulin III in human glioma stem cells. Moreover, JWH133 reduced the cell population expressing the neuroepithelial progenitor marker nestin, causing a marked decrease in the efficiency of glioma formation in vivo, linked with reduced neurosphere formation and cell growth in secondary xenografts.
