Oncogenic pathway activity analysis using PROGENγ revealed that TNFα signaling and its effector pathway, NF-κB, were upregulated in all MPN subtypes (in line with findings from other groups [17, 23, 51]), but particularly in SMF, suggesting that SMF patients are characterized by a more pronounced inflammatory condition. The gene discussed is NFKB1; the disease is myeloproliferative disorder.
