ICAM1 and atherosclerosis: Our results revealed that ICAM-1-targeted nano contrast agents had a longer time of imaging in the vascular intima-media membrane compared to the lumen, this was specific to the severity of inflammation in atherosclerosis, while conventional micron ultrasonic contrast agents in the lumen faded almost at the same time as lumen wall contrast agents, which was consistent with the study results of Fan et al.16.
