Using label-free Raman spectroscopy, Yue and coworkers demonstrated an aberrant accumulation of esterified cholesterol in LDs in high-grade PCa and mets due to the loss of the tumor suppressor PTEN, the activation of PI3K/AKT pathway, and the consequent activation of TF SREBP and LDL receptor (LDL-R). Here, LDLR is linked to posterior cortical atrophy.
