With respect to EMB (XPO1 in mammals) and RAE1, their mammalian homologs have been shown to contribute to NA9-induced leukemia through their association with the FG / GLFG motifs and GLEBS domain of NA9, respectively, which appears to interfere with nucleocytoplasmic transport [29–31,41,42]. The gene discussed is RAE1; the disease is leukemia.
