Taking into account that BRAF mutated colon cancer tends to have higher expression levels of immunotherapy-related genes, such as PD-1, PD-L1, CTLA-4, and LAG-3, the use of checkpoint inhibitors in the Checkmate-142 trial was favorable and indicated that BRAF mutated colon cancer might present with an immunosuppressive microenvironment, which was in agreement with our conclusion. The gene discussed is CTLA4; the disease is colonic neoplasm.
