Elevated expression of several members of ETS family including ERG, ETV1, ETV4, and ETV5 is considered as a common event in human prostate cancer and this overexpression has been attributed to chromosomal rearrangements involving the fusion of the androgen-activated gene TMPRSS2 with ETS transcription factors (Clark and Cooper, 2009). The gene discussed is ETV5; the disease is Familial prostate cancer.
