The diagrams (Fig. 7 a-c) show how the risk of stroke development in patients with ICA stenosis of 80% and Lp-PLA2 concentration at the level of 285 mg/l depends on the structure of the atherosclerotic plaque; Fig. 7a presents a high risk (echolucent atherosclerotic plaque), Fig. 7b presents a medium risk (heterogeneous atherosclerotic plaque); Fig. 7c presents a low risk (echogenic atherosclerotic plaque).
