Through bioinformatics analysis using The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA; http://software.broadinstitute.org/software/igv/tcga) databases, we found that FTO mRNA levels were substantially upregulated in head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC) tumor samples (n = 519) when compared with that in normal tissues (n = 44) (Figure 2A). The gene discussed is FTO; the disease is head and neck squamous cell carcinoma.
