In an analysis of genetic interaction between three common ALS-related genes and creatine monohydrate and valproic acid treatment in two clinical trials, a dose-response pharmacogenetic interaction between creatine and the A allele of the MOBP genotype (rs616147) was identified, highlighting the importance of incorporating genetic information in ALS clinical trials [43]. The gene discussed is MOBP; the disease is amyotrophic lateral sclerosis.
