In this regard, the main objective of the present work was to focus on the study of the relative expression of the TAS1R2 and TAS1R3 sweet sensing receptors, and of the TAS2R14 and TAS2R38 bitter sensing receptors in jejunal samples of women with morbid obesity (MO) classified into the presence or absence of MetS and/or NAFLD. This evidence concerns the gene TAS2R38 and metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease.
