Furthermore, Ghrelin has also demonstrated to sustain endothelial function and angiogenesis.18,58–62 It needs to bear in mind that acute inflammatory responses in both humans and rodents do not revert back to homeostasis but trigger a previously yet unappreciated consequence of immunological events that dictate subsequent immune response to infection.63 Whether Ghrelin therapy with pegylated G-CSF can reduce the consequence of immunological events are not known and worthy for exploration.
