ADHERE compared the clinical characteristics to those of the other two HF groups and found that the HFmrEF cohort was more similar to the HFpEF cohort in terms of advanced age, female bias, presence of complications [hypertension, COPD, Diabetes Mellitus (DM)], abnormal laboratory indicators (creatinine, B-type natriuretic peptide, troponin) and drug use [beta-receptor blocker, angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitor (ACEI), angiotensin II receptor antagonist (ARBs)]. This evidence concerns the gene ACE and diabetes mellitus.
