HOXA9 reportedly forms translocations with 5 partner genes in myeloid malignancies: ANGPT1, GATA2 and NIPBL in pediatric acute megakaryoblastic leukemia (15, 16); NUP98 mostly in patients with AML and occasionally in patients with chronic myelogenous leukemia (CML) in blast crisis (17–19); and MSI2 in a patient with CML in the accelerated phase (20). This evidence concerns the gene MSI2 and acute myeloid leukemia.
