Programmed death ligand 1 (PD-L1), the main ligand of programmed death 1 (PD-1) is upregulated in a subset of non-small-cell lung carcinoma (NSCLC) [4]. A distinguishing feature of NSCLC is the molecular mutation subsets in the epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR), which is a major oncogenic driver in this cancer [5]. The gene discussed is EGFR; the disease is non-small cell lung carcinoma.
