In previous studies, NMOSD with AQP4-IgG+ has been shown to be associated with a high frequency of autoantibodies and autoimmune diseases including SLE (Asgari et al., 2018), RA, Sjogren’s syndrome (SS) (Pittock et al., 2008), myasthenia gravis (MG) (McKeon et al., 2009), and antiphospholipid syndrome (APS) (Guerra et al., 2018). This evidence concerns the gene AQP4 and rheumatoid arthritis.
