In previous studies, NMOSD with AQP4-IgG+ has been shown to be associated with a high frequency of autoantibodies and autoimmune diseases including SLE (Asgari et al., 2018), RA, Sjogren’s syndrome (SS) (Pittock et al., 2008), myasthenia gravis (MG) (McKeon et al., 2009), and antiphospholipid syndrome (APS) (Guerra et al., 2018). The gene discussed is AQP4; the disease is antiphospholipid syndrome.
