Over the years, several new classes of antihyperglycemic agents, including GLP-1 receptor agonists and sodium–glucose cotransporter inhibitors 2 (SGLT-2) are widely used in the type 2 diabetes therapy, which have extra benefits for weight loss and blood-pressure reductions, even reducing the risk of major cardiovascular adverse events, renal events, and hospitalization rates for heart failure (23–26). Here, GLP1R is linked to heart failure.
