Accordingly, cancer starvation therapy based on glucose‐deprivation is emerging as an effective method for suppressing tumor growth and survival.[1] In most of these researches, glucose oxidase (GOx) was applied to deplete glucose by converting to gluconic acid and hydrogen peroxide (H2O2).[2] The overproduced H2O2 will induce systemic toxicity, which will enhance the cancer‐killing efficiency in addition to glucose‐blocking induced energy shortage. The gene discussed is HAO1; the disease is cancer.
