TMEM37 and infection: The mechanistic study of T. asperellum exhibits following mode of infections to kill anopheline larvae: (1) Secretion of mucilage from spore for its attachment on larval surface, (2) After germination of spore, penetration of insect cuticle by secretion of cuticle degrading enzymes (spore bound Pr1, chitinase and proteases) through infection peg, and (3) After penetration, secretion of toxins inside larval body which decrease larval phenol oxidase and degenerate hemocyte cells by nuclear fragmentations causing larval immunity breakdown followed by death.
