The impact of a high NK score on prognosis was most marked in skin cutaneous melanoma (SKCM) and bladder cancer (BLCA) and in both these cancer types a high MAIT cell signature correlated with an increased NK cell signature and expression of CD3, CD8 and CD45 (Fig. 6a and Supplementary Fig. 8a) likely indicative of tumors with high levels of immune cell infiltrate. This evidence concerns the gene CD8A and bladder transitional cell carcinoma.
