In order to overcome these USS-associated limitations, novel serological HCC scoring tools have been proposed, of which the GALAD sore [12], based on gender, age, AFP-L3, AFP, and des-gamma carboxyprothrombin (DCP), was found to have the highest diagnostic potential, as evaluated in multiple international, multicenter, case-control studies [13,14,15,16].
