Using these data in combination with a previous cancer platelet proteomics dataset [28], we defined eight platelet proteins (RNF213, CTSG, PGLYRP1, RPL8, S100A8, S100A9, GPX1 and TNS1) as promising cancer-associated proteins that may provide, upon further validation, cancer biomarkers within blood platelets.
