We have shown previously that increasing cAMP levels in glioma cells results in growth inhibition [29], suggesting that, in conjunction with the use of PDE inhibitors such as Mardepodect, raising intracellular cAMP levels in GBM cells by antagonizing Gi-linked GPCRs such as B2R could be therapeutically relevant. This evidence concerns the gene ALDH7A1 and central nervous system cancer.
