Another study, enrolling 86 CRC patients, did not show a significant association between chronic OXAIPN and KCNN3 repeat polymorphism [117]; concurring with the same negative results of a larger study studying 151 CRC patients and which provided evidence for lack of significant association between variations of the KCNN3 repeat polymorphism and development of either acute or chronic OXAIPN [113]. This evidence concerns the gene KCNN3 and colorectal carcinoma.
