Our findings are consistent with the diverse functions of CaSR in that circulating calcium is positively associated with prostate, breast, and skin cancers in which CaSR expression stimulates tumor cell growth and motility [2,3,41] while most other malignancies, including colorectal cancer in which downregulation of CaSR stimulates tumor growth are inversely associated with calcium [42,43].
