VEGFA and uveitis: Abnormal levels of vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) critically contribute to BRB leakage [17], and intravitreal injection of VEGF inhibitors (e.g., anti-VEGF neutralizing antibodies) is the standard of care for macular oedema in various conditions (e.g., DR, neovascular AMD or uveitis) [18,19,20].
