In the Canakinumab Anti-inflammatory Thrombosis Outcomes Study (CANTOS) trial, canakinumab, which is an IL-1β inhibitor, resulted in a lower incidence of recurrent non-fatal myocardial infarction (MI), non-fatal stroke, or cardiovascular death among patients with stable CAD and hsCRP levels of >2 mg/L [9].
