Karyopherin-β2 (Kap-β2) is a nuclear import receptor that binds to and prevents the aggregation of RBPs including FUS, TAF15, EWSR1, hnRNPA1, and hnRNPA2, many of which accumulate in the cytoplasm in ALS and related disorders [32]. The gene discussed is FUS; the disease is amyotrophic lateral sclerosis.
