Karyopherin-β2 (Kap-β2) is a nuclear import receptor that binds to and prevents the aggregation of RBPs including FUS, TAF15, EWSR1, hnRNPA1, and hnRNPA2, many of which accumulate in the cytoplasm in ALS and related disorders [32]. This evidence concerns the gene HNRNPA1 and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis.
