The results indicated that mRNA levels of ITGA5, ITGA7, ITGA8, ITGB2, and ITGB5 were significantly higher in skin samples of SSc than those of normal controls, while the mRNA levels of ITGAE and ITGB3BP were significantly lower and other integrins showed no remarkable differences (Figure 1). The gene discussed is ITGB2; the disease is systemic sclerosis.
