SCARF1 expression was, however, highly prognostic of better overall survival (HR = 0.46, 95% CI = 0.28–0.74, p ≤ 0.005), disease-free survival (HR = 0.49, 95% CI = 0.29–0.81, p ≤ 0.01) and progression-free survival (HR = 0.51, 95% CI = 0.32–0.79, p ≤ 0.01) in patients with non-viral HCC, but exhibited no prognostic value in viral HCC patients.
