It has been reported that CA-125 is not effective for early-stages ovarian cancer detection as it is not sufficiently specific to be used as a general population screening method, because a number of common benign conditions can cause elevation of CA-125 levels, including endometriosis, adenomyosis, ovarian cysts, uterine fibroids, renal dysfunction and hepatic disease are really [7].
