INS and Insulin resistance: During the continuous hyperinsulinemic state in insulin resistance, a suggested impairment of the IRS‐1/PI3K pathway might occur, diminishing the release of NO and amplifying the MAPK/ET‐1 pathway, causing a shift in the vascular actions of insulin, whereby the vasodilatory response to insulin could be lost (Bender et al., 2013; Muniyappa & Sowers, 2013).
