Mechanistically, we identified QSOX2 as a cell cycle-related gene transcriptionally regulated by E2F1 in G1 phase and showed that QSOX2 silencing could significantly inhibit tumor growth, promote apoptosis and downregulate the expression of cell division-related proteins [centromere protein F (CENPF) and nucleolar and spindle associated protein 1 (NUSAP1)] and Wnt pathway activators [paired mesoderm homeobox protein 2 (PRRX3) and Nuc-β-catenin]. This evidence concerns the gene E2F1 and neoplasm.
