Guo et al. (2018) proposed that ribosomal protein S15a promotes tumor angiogenesis by enhancing Wnt/β-catenin-induced FGF18 expression in HCC. It has been reported that RPS11 is highly expressed in liver cancer tissues, and its high expression indicates a poor prognosis (Zhou et al., 2020b). On the other hand, studies (Chen et al., 2020; Zhou et al., 2020a) have shown that ribosomal proteins can be used as intermediate targets to inhibit the progression of HCC. This evidence concerns the gene RPS15A and liver cancer.
