Li et al. (2020) performed WGCNA based on the GEO dataset GSE54238 and screened four hub genes (TDRKH, TARBP1, STK39, and SOX4) that were correlated with immune infiltration and found that these four genes had certain diagnostic value for HCC. The TCGA database was chosen to validate these genes. Previous studies have shown that 10 genes (CD8A, GMPS, STAT3, ERBB2, ACACA, ALB, EGFR, TGFB1, KRAS, and BCL2) are involved in multiple pathways, including cell adhesion, migration, locomotion, and differentiation, in the occurrence and progression of HCC (Zhang et al., 2017). This evidence concerns the gene EGFR and hepatocellular carcinoma.
