The biochemical and hormonal tests (see Table 1) demonstrated normal levels of sodium, potassium, calcium, parathyroid hormone (PTH), gonadotropins (considering the postmenopausal condition) and IGF-1 by age; in contrast, prolactin was moderately increased and the evaluation of the pituitary-thyroid axis was consistent with secondary hypothyroidism. This evidence concerns the gene PTH and isolated thyroid-stimulating hormone deficiency.
