Sorafenib (Figure 1) is an oral multikinase inhibitor targeting intracellular serine/threonine kinases (C-Raf, B-Raf, and B-Raf(V600E)) and receptor tyrosine kinases (mainly VEGFR-2 and PDGFR-β) which is currently approved for the second-line treatment of advanced renal cell carcinoma (RCC), hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), acute myeloid leukaemia (AML), and radioactive iodine resistant differentiated advanced thyroid carcinoma (DTC)12,.13 The gene discussed is RAF1; the disease is acute myeloid leukemia.
