WWTR1 and neoplasm: The tumor suppressor Hippo signaling pathway negatively regulates YAP/TAZ function via activation of the LATS1/2 kinases, which phosphorylate YAP/TAZ at multiple sites [41,49–52], allowing YAP/TAZ to interact with 14-3-3 proteins (sequestering YAP/TAZ in the cytoplasm) and be degraded by the proteasome [41,49,53].
