By analyzing quantitatively allele or genotype distribution of 16394 patients and 17453 controls, a significant association between RA and CTLA-4 CT60(rs3087243) SNP was observed in all genetic comparisons (A vs. G: OR = 0.87, 95% CI = 0.83-0.91, P<0.00001; AA vs. GG: OR = 0.80, 95% CI =0.74-0.87, P<0.00001; AG vs. AA: OR = 0.85, 95% CI =0.80-0.90, P<0.0001; AA + AG vs. GG: OR =0.83, 95% CI=0.77-0.90, P<0.0001, and AA vs. AG+ GG: OR =0.88, 95% CI=0.83-0.94, P=0.0003) (Table 3 and Figure 2). The gene discussed is CTLA4; the disease is rheumatoid arthritis.
